Howrah-based Rakesh Ghosh is a director and a scriptwriter in Bengali Film & Television Industry. Rakesh studied at Rahara Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Bengali Language and Literature at Narasinha Dutt College. He has a master’s from the University of Calcutta. Rakesh first acted on stage in plays with Dwandik, a theatre group in Howrah. He also worked with another group called Natadha. Intrigued by the form of this creative art, Rakesh formed his theatre group called “Shabdomugdho, Howrah” in 2006, for which he wrote and directed plays.
The group was later renamed “DumDum Shabdomugdho Naatyokendra” after its move to DumDum in West Bengal. With his group, Rakesh worked as a writer, director and actor. Overall, the theatre group has over sixteen productions and has performed all over West Bengal. Besides this, Rakesh also acted in short films and television serial dramas. Rakesh Ghosh has worked with famous theatre artist and dramatist Sir Manoj Mitra. He has also worked as a scriptwriter and a story developer for the Bengali television channel “Star Jalsha.” In 2022, Rakesh Ghosh became the dialogue writer for the biographical serial “ Yuganayak Swami Vivekananda Life becomes easy when you know what to do, where >> Read More... .”
