Rohit Dey is a renowned filmmaker, podcaster, producer, and screenwriter from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He was born on 29th December 1997 in Kolkata, West Bengal. His mother is a psychologist and his father is a government employee. He graduated from Gurudas College, University of Kolkata in Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letter. He initially started as a full-time content writer and then worked with some notable theatre productions in Kolkata. His debut in the film industry was through the film ‘Rainbow Jelly.’ He has interned in companies like Mad About Drama in 2017, Laughalaughi in 2018, and Radio One in 2018. He was a podcaster at Genesis Advertising for the show ‘Gaurav Bolchhi’ in 2022. He was also an editorial consultant at Mirchi in 2024 and a writer at SVF Entertainment in 2024. His works include Gupi Gayen, Bancharamer Bagan Bari, Felunather Marksheet, Charki, and Hey Bhogoban in 2019; Debigarh e Garbar, Rawkto Rawhoshyo, and SOS Kolkata in 2020; Mission Extreme in 2021; Kolkatar Harry, #Bhagar, Operation Sundarbans, and Mother Teresa & Me in 2022; Manobjomin, Black War: Mission Extreme 2, and XO in 2023; Rhino Charge and Bonbibi in 2024. He also executed a documentary project highlighting the 250-year-old journey of Kolkata GPO, titled ‘Timestamp’ which was commissioned by India Post.
