Ujjwal Chatterjee is a famous director, dialogue and story writer, lyricist, producer, and filmmaker. He is a national award-winning feature filmmaker. He completed his education at B.E. Model School, Howrah, West Bengal. His first Bengali feature film is Gondi. It won the National Award in 1992. It got selected for Indian Panorama International Film Festival (1992), Tashkent Film Festival (1993), and Fukuoka Film Festival, Japan (1993). His 2nd Bengali feature film, “Kaal Ratri,” was awarded by Bangladesh Film Movement in 1998 and got selected for London Film Festival (1999) and Hong Kong Film Festival (2000).
