Bengali Producer Nawazish Ali Khan

Nawazish Ali Khan is an acclaimed television producer and director. He was born on 2 October 1942 in Barisal, Bengal Presidency during British India. He grew up in a middle class family, where his childhood was constrained to gramophone recordings and radio shows. He started his career in 1967 with Pakistan television. Even after the Independence of Bangladesh in 1972, he was not able to return to his home. In 1972, he escaped from Pakistan and successfully reached back to Bangladesh. The same year he joined BTV and worked diligently with them, and produced the first SAF games for them.

He worked with them for 28 years, thereafter retiring as the General Manager. In 2002, he joined as an advisor at ATN Bangla, and has worked with them for over 15 years. In 2019, he joined as a CEO at Global Television. Initially, he also worked at a musical programme. He has dedicatedly completed over 50 years in the television industry. Nawazish Ali Khan has received a lot of critical acclaim and awards for his remarkable productions. In 1976, he won the “National Award for Best Producer” for his several notable works like “Bornali,” “Jalsha,” and “Anondomela.”

The United States recognized his show “Jonani” with a merit certificate, and one of the episodes of the show Bornali named “Kaajer Gaan” is also awarded with a merit certificate by the Korean Broadcasting Network. He twice won the “National Award for Best Television Program” for his show “Bornali.” he has won numerous awards for his distinguished works. In 1992, he won the “Sher-E-Bangla Literary Award.” In 1995, he won the “Dhaka Youth Foundation Award.” In 1995, he won the “Kalodhwani Independence Gold Medal.’ In 1995, he was awarded with the “National Personality Award.” In 2004, he won the “TDF Lifetime Achievement Award.” In 2005, he won “A-1 Telemedia and Silk Line Independence Award.” In 2017, he was awarded with “Bijoy Barta Shommanona Award.” Whereas, in 2023 he was honoured with the “Ekushey Padak.”
