Rajanikanta Sen is also known as Kantakobi. Rajanikanta Sen was an Indian Bengali poet and music composer. He was born on 26 July 1865 at Bhangabar (modern time Bangladesh). He was a very famous poet who wrote poems on desh bhakti and also composed patriotic and spiritual songs. Rajanikanta Sen had written many famous poems and songs for encouraging people to gain freedom and he also write poems to express his anger at the time of Bengal partition. He had written books like Vani, Amrta, Kalyani, Bishram etc. He got married to an outstanding lady Hiranmayee Devi in 1883 who always supported him in his journey and encouraged him to write nationalistic poems and songs. Unfortunately he left the world without seeing the freedom for which he was waiting since years, on 13 September 1910 at Calcutta when he was just 45 years old.
