Anil Bagchi was a composer. He has composed songs for multiple movies. Anil Bagchi was born on January 17, 1908. He was from the Midnapore district of Bengal. From a young age, he took music lessons from Bundi Misra. Later on, he became a strong disciple of Mehdi Hussain. Anil Bagchi was known for his usage of delicate ornamentations in his compositions. He mentioned that, without the ornamentations he felt that his songs were incomplete. These ornamentations are mostly used in Hindustani Classic music. He was best known for his work in Antony Firingee(1967). He was also a composer for movies like, Kavi (1949), Birieswar Vivekananda (1964), Suleh (1946 ), and more.
