Tauquir Ahmed is a well-known Bangladeshi Architect, Actor, Writer, Director, Producer, Editor, and lyricist. He was born on 5 March 1966 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and completed his early education at Jhenidah Cadet College. Later, he went to the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) to study architecture. In 2002, he completed a diploma in film from New York Film Academy. He learned stage acting from the University of Theatre of Nations and theatre direction from Royal Court Theatre, London. They had a son Arib, and a daughter Arisha. Tauquir started his career as an actor in the BTV show Firiye Dao Oronno in 1989 by Mansurul Aziz. Later in 1996, he appeared in many telefilms and drama series like Harjit, Pratyasha, Ekjan Aparadhini, Dola, and Hasuli.

Oi Khane Jeonako Tumi (2011), Gopon Kotha Chilo Bolbar (2013), Kemon Acho (2015), Opar Anando, Sonali Danar Chil, etc., are some of the most popular projects by Tauquir Ahmed in the television industry. He appeared in many hit movies like Nodir Naam Modhumoti (1994), Chitra Nodir Pare (1999), Lalsalu (2001), Rupkothar Golpo (2006), Britter Baire (2009), Jalaler Golpo (2015), Komola Rocket (2018), and many more. He began directing tv series and movies in 2004 with his debut movie Joyjatra. He also produced stage plays, Protisoron in 2012, Icchamrityu in 2013, and Oggyatonama in 2015. He worked as a lyricist for the movies Haldaa (2017) and The Unnamed (2016). Tauquir Ahmed has won numerous national and international awards for his excellence in the Bangladeshi Entertainment Industry. He won Bangladesh National Film Award twice, once in 2004 for Best Screenplay, director, and producer for the film Joyjatra, and next in 2016 for Best Film and story & Best Negative Role for the film Oggyatonama. His debut director film, Joyjatra, won several awards, including Meril Prothom Alo Awards for Best Film Director and Special Film Award at Dhaka International Film Festival. Tauquir won the Best Director award for his several films like Rupkothar Golpo (Meril Prothom Alo Award), Haldaa (FIPRESCI Award), Oggatonama (Film Fest Kosovo), and Oggatonama (Washington DC South Asian Film Festival).
