Born in the year 1973, Spandan Banerjee is a self-made Indian director/filmmaker andproducer.He is the leading founding father of Overdose Films private limited. Spandan was born and brought up in Kolkata, India. He completed his undergraduate degree from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, India. He showed enthusiasm in fine artwork from a very young age. He evolved as an artist from being and working as a young cartoonist for “The Statesmen” in 1990 to designing art for the “Satyajit Ray Society.”Further, he started his career in advertising,initially with Response India, Kolkata, and then later with a worldwide advertising agency, BBDO.

He was shortlisted among a few others for the British Council Young Creative Entrepreneur Award under the SCREEN Category. Spandan has directed and produced more than 100 independent films, which include documentary films, advertising films, short and cultural documentary features with OVERDOSE films.

He has released numerous independent films, including his National-Award winning YOU DON’T BELONG(2011), TO-LET(2013), and BEWARE DOGS(2008) which have been exceptionally acclaimed. He is a trained commercial artist as well as cartoonist, which acts as the main part of most of his film releases. Although, he resides in Goa, he works out of Delhi, Bombay, and Calcutta.
