Shankha Dasgupta

Shankha Dasgupta is an incredibly talented Dhaka-based filmmaker and photographer. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from his hometown. Before venturing into filmmaking, interestingly, Shankha started as a journalist and later transitioned into filmmaking by working on multiple projects.

During his early years as a freelance filmmaker, he produced the film ‘HELLO AMIT’ under ‘One Feature Film’ and a drama series called ‘Garbhodharini’ in 2009. Since then, he has directed various television drama series and fiction. In 2012, he established his own film production house – ‘FILMY FEATURES,’ which provides filmmaking services and serves as a learning center for film professionals.

 Shankha has produced and facilitated over 100 films since the establishment of ‘FILMY FEATURES.’ Some of his most popular television series include ‘ Boli Stroy coming soon... >> Read More... ’ in 2021 and ‘Guti’ in 2023. ‘Boli’ series narrates the story of Cheradia, a small island, while ‘Guti’ is a crime web series came out on Chorki, in which Azmeri Haoque Badhon played the lead role that gained attention from all corners of the world. Shankha’s phenomenal work earned him the Best Director award from Srijon Shonman in Kolkata, which he truly deserves.
