Satyen Bose is one of the most exceptional and experimental filmmakers of India, ironically he never had any formal training in cinema, but his name is carved in the cinematic history of India to be the most evergreen filmmaker of his time. His career did not follow a single path of being a director, but he was also a writer and actor in many films. He directed both Hindi and Bengali language films.

” which was revived into Hindi movie “Jagriti” in 1954, this movie was a major milestone for Mr. Satyen Bose as he won the Filmfare for Best Film in 1955. His list of films includes all kinds of genres: they were known for their novelty such as comedy, patriotic, sentiment, and full of drama. In 1958 he became the name of every household when he worked with the Ganguly Brother's film “

” was released, which was a musical comedy which was a super hit in the box-office.
Bose's second Hindi film to receive Film Fare was "Dosti”(1964). Also, it went for the fourth edition of the Moscow International Film Festival. Later in 1967, he presented a psychological drama, "Din Aur Raat" starring Nargin, this film beautifully narrated the sensitivity of being mentally ill this film earned Nargis with her only National Award for Best actress. Other notable work of Mr. Bose is Bandi (1957), Aasra (1966), and Anmol Tasveer (1978). Mr. Bose took his last breath in 1993, but still, his name is imprinted in the history of Indian cinema.
