Abdur Razzak is a Bengali/Bangladeshi actor, producer, and director born on January 23, 1943, in Nakatala, South Kolkata, Bengal Presidency, British India. He finished his education at Khanpur High School. His parents were Akbar Hossain and Nisarunnesa. He married Khairunnesa Laxmi and had five children. In 1961, he obtained a diploma from the Filmalaya Film Institute, Mumbai.  He made his acting debut in the film RatanLal Bengali. From 1964 through 2017, he was active in the industry.

He is known for acting in films such as Chandranath, released in 1984; Ki Je Kori, released in 1976 and Oshikkhito, released in 1978. He is also known for films such as Baba Keno Chakor, Behula, Jibon Theke Neya, Ora Egaro Jon, Osru Diye Lekha, Rongbaj, Neel Akasher Nichey, Moner Moto Bou, and Swaralipi. He has also acted alongside many actors and actresses, such as Shuchanda, Shabnam, Bulbul Kanchan, Anwar Bobita, Shabana, SohelRana Kobori, Ahmed, Ilias Hossain, and many more. He has acted in around three hundred Urdu and Bengali films and directed around sixteen motion pictures.

He has been awarded the National Award five times under the category of screen actor. He won the National Award in 1976, 1978, 1982, 1984, and 1988. He also produced movies such as Akankha, his first debut film as a producer.

He has also been awarded awards such as the Indo-Bangla Kala Music Award in the category of Khan Ataur Rahman Bio coming soon... >> Read More... Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. He won the Bachsas Awards in 2009, the Ifad Film Club Award in 2012, the Babisas Award in 2012, the MerilProthomAlo Award in 2014, and the Tele Cine Awards in Kolkata in 2017 under the category of Lifetime Achievement Award.

He was awarded the best actor in films like Ki Je Kori, Ashikkhito, Boro Bhalo Lok Chilo, Chandranath, and Jogajog. He got other awards, such as the Indo-Bangla Kala Music Award, Bachsas Award, Ifad Film Club Award, Babisas Award, Meril Prothom Alo Awards, and Tele Cine Awards in Kolkata.

He passed away at 75 on August 21, 2017, due to a heart attack.
