Suchismita Dasgupta is a famous Costume Designer, Stylist, and entrepreneur from the Bengali Film industry. She graduated in commerce at the University of Kolkatta. Later, she earned a diploma in Advertising and Brand Building from Clarion College of Communication and a diploma in Commercial arts at Birla Institute of Liberal Arts and Management Science.

She began her career by working at McCann Erickson Kolkata in Art Direction and Print Production. Later, she left the job and started her own company, Nextiles, in 2004. Nextiles is a Kolkata-based company that focuses on transforming Indian traditional style and works into urban need style. She always works on form, design, and texture and comes out with stylish, comfortable, and traditional designs.

She designed the costumes for various movies such as Bibar in 2006, Four Chapters in 2008, Aaynate in 2008, 033 in 2009, Mahanagar@Kolkata in 2010, Gangor in 2010, Ami Aadu in 2010, Rang Milanti in 2011, At the End of it All in 2011, Kahaani in 2012, Laptop in 2012, Shabdo in 2012, Gora in 2012, Half Serious in 2013, Kadambari in 2015, Ahalya in 2015, Anukul in 2017, Jadu Kadai in 2019, Chokher Bali in 2019, Bhalobashar Shohor: Shorshe llish in 2019, Punglingo Strilingo in Shororipu 2: Jotugriho in 2020, Aparajito in 2022, and many more.

Suchismita was honored with various awards for her contribution to art and textiles. In 2006, she participated in the Ethical Fashion Show in Paris, France, which focused on recycling natural fibers and textiles and the artist-in-residence program organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the French Embassy, India.
