Indraneel Lahiri is an Indian cinematographer and producer. He did his schooling at Don Bosco Park Circus, Calcutta. He pursued his BA in mass communication and videography from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. He completed his diploma in filmmaking, cinematography, and film/video production from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He started his career as a cinematographer with the short video Aida (2011). Later on, he worked as a cinematographer in various short videos like Kya Tu Jaane (2017), Kaala(2021), and The Waterfall (2017) and multiple documentaries- Some Stories Around Witches(2016) and Backstage (2021). He also works as a producer of research-oriented documentary films.
He; worked as a producer and a cinematographer in the documentary Kankee O Saapo(2014). Indraneel is well known for his cinematography in the Bengali documentary Aamar Katha, The Story of Binodini. He received the Best Cinematography Award in the Non-Feature section of the 62nd National Film Awards The National Film Awards gets presented every year >> Read More... , 2015. He has done extensive research on puppets, supported by the National Folklore Support Centre, Chennai. The research topic was the Puppetry Traditions of Odisha, and Indraneel’s essay on puppeteers from Odisha was published by NFSC, in the book “Many Cultures One Nation.”
