Free Guy is a science fiction action film laced with comedy. Scripted by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn and directed by Shawn Levy. Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, Sarah Schechter, Greg Berlanti, and Adam Kolbrenner produced the film on a large scale. Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Joe Keery, and Taika Waititi are cast in the prominent roles. George Richmond cranked the camera and Dean Zimmerman edited the film. Christophe Beck composed the music.
Soonami Games develop an online game, Free City. Life Itself is another game developed by Walter Keys McKey and Millie Rusk. Antwan, the developer of Free City, steals the source code of Life Itself and uses it to create Free City. Guy is a non-player character in the video game who works as a bank teller. He doesn’t know that he is in the video game world. He has a friend Buddy and Guy spends his time with him. One day, when he meets Millie, a Molotov girl, he gets deviated from his program. What happens next forms an exciting plot.
Ryan Reynolds fits in the role perfectly. Joe Keery and Jodie Comer are natural with their performances.
Although this concept is not new to Hollywood films, this is something different. The narration by Shawn is good, and the character selection is good. With the stylish performers and the engaging screenplay, the audiences are tied to the seats throughout the film. There are no dull moments and no preachy stuff. The effects of Artificial Intelligence is explained in detail with the finest performances of the stars.
What’s Not There?
With a good team that brought the finest script, direction, and performances, the audiences watch the film without any regrets!
