Plot

The film is set in a dystopian world where a sudden rare non explained disease has managed to kill over 98% of children and young people in the United States of America, the rest 2% that somehow survived, have developed a kind of mutation or superpowers. Adults are the only ones remaining and after the recent development of superpowers, the adults fear everybody under the age of 18 and have therefore declared everyone under the age of 28 as a threat and have locked the kids up in camps with no outside contact. Ruby, is 16-year-old and is our protagonist. She escapes the camp where she is being held up in. She is then joined by a group of teenagers who are also running away from these government camps. Now ruby along with others must fight for survival even if it means losing themselves in the process.

Star Performance

The cast of this movie is seemingly new to the industry except for the lovely Mandy Moore Amanda Leigh Moore was born on 10th of April in Ne >> Read More... , she has portrayed the little of her character with utmost charm and dedication.

Analysis

The last time somebody managed to make this bad of a YA dystopian movie stray so far from the original books, we got the Percy Jackson movies, which were still a decent watch. The movie is simply the worst movie I have come across in a long time, the cringe-acting, the predictable dialogues, and the unbearable development of the storyline are just a few of many things that make me want to throw a shoe at the screen when this movie comes on. The producers were most probably not even thinking about what they were doing creating this. There is no character development, the movie is just continuously running it seems, without any time gaps to focus on the storyline or any characters. The acting is as bad as it can get with this joke of a storyline.

What’s There

  • Nothing but flaws and disappointment in this movie.

What’s Not There

  • The list could go on and on. There is no consistent and solid storyline, no character development, there is bad cinematography, and just overall the worst execution of the resources.

Verdict

Hands down the biggest disappointment, watching it was painful enough to ever recommend anybody else to watch it.
