Reshmi Menon is a promising Indian actress hailing from Kerala. She is seen to be appearing in Tamil Films. The discovery of this actress was quite like every girl’s fantasy. She accompanied a friend of hers to audition for a role. The film was Inidhu Inidhu and she got herself cast as the lead in it. Reshmi was a child star in the 2003 movie, Jayam. Reshmi studied Visual Communication at Women's Christian College in Chennai. She pursued this course as she loved the media. She got her first movie Inidhu Inidhu,which was produced byPrakash Raj in 2010. She did the shooting while she was still in college. She had to leave her classes at her college for the filming. The film was a remake of the Telugu film Happy Days. Reshmi had to reprise the role of actress Tamannah in it.

The critics shared variant views on her performance. The Hindu praised her saying she was “a cute find”. But the Sify’s critics disliked her act. Although getting mixed reviews, the director of the original film himself admitted that he liked her performance. He stated he forgot Tamannah when he saw the remake and could only picture Reshmi doing the role. Immediately after her first movie; she shot an independent film, Om Obama. The director JanakiVishwanathan shot it in a 35 days’ time. Unfortunately, the film was not released.

However in 2011, her second film Theneer Viduthi came out. It was directed by S.S. Kumaran, a successful music director with the works like 'Poo' and 'Kalavani.' That was his first time to direct a movie. The film had Reshmi playing a simple-minded and a talkative girl. The Sify’s critics praised her for her unique acting and the belief that she created that she truly was from Bodinayakkanur. After three long years in 2014, her next movie, Burma came. The movie was a comedy cum thriller and received great reviews. Her performance was received well by the public, but critics had different opinions.

In spite of having fewer movies before, in 2015 she has starred in three movies, Urumeen being one of them. The film received mixed reviews.
