After she had completed her schooling from Kolkata, she moved to Mumbai and did several advertisements.

Teja narrated the script to the 17-year-old in 20 minutes, and also described his low budget problems. Regardless of any money issues, the script appealed Reemma, and she took on the challenge. Since 2000, she has starred in several films, and her flexibility has made her capable of doing movies in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, and Kannada. She was not received well in the Hindi cinema, but all of her first seven Tamil movies are proved to be a hit. She has also appeared in item songs at the peak of her career.

Born in Kolkata, this dusky actress completed her high school from St.Thomas Girls School in Kidderpore, Kolkata before moving to Mumbai where she initially launched her career in the world of modeling. The actress married Shiv Karan Singh, who is a businessman. She married him in 2012, giving birth to her son named Rudraveer on 22 Feb 2013. She is fluent in Bengali, English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

The controversy surfaced in April 2006 when Madurai Court issued Warrants against her for obscene photographs in a Tamil newspaper Dinakaran, owned by Sun group. Later she had written a letter to Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal regarding the same matter. Reemma made her debut into Bollywood with flick “Hum Ho Gaye Hai Apke”. However, the movie bombed at the theaters, although she came with a bang in the comedy hit ‘Malamaal Weekly’. Finally, her appearance in blockbuster ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ in which she played the role of the second wife of leading character (Manoj Bajpai) added to her list of accolades. The movie was a major hit and won awards. Her role was distinctive; she won praises. Her last Hindi release was ‘Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2’ in 2012.
