Talking Tom and Friends is a Tamil dubbed American cartoon animated show. The show is based on the popular culture characters of Talking Tom and friends which were launched by Outfit 7 for mobile devices. The app used AI through which it captured the words that a human said and then made the cat, which was named Tom, repeat it. The game was almost like a virtual petting game for cat lovers. The character became so popular that Outfit 7 launched a whole show that was about these characters and explained their story. The show follows Talking Tom and his friends as they go about their daily life and struggles. The show captures the events that are happening in all the character’s life.

The show follows an episodic structure in which all the episodes are meant to be stand-alone episodes that can be watched without any context. But the show also has a general character arc and plot which is very basic but is there to keep the momentum of the show in check. The show has a plethora of great fun characters taken out of the game itself. Tom is a grey tabby cat who is a tech freak and is always thinking of investing in some idea for an app. He is a go-to guy to understand some technology-related stuff as he keeps himself updated in this field. He is the leader of his gang. Accompanying him on the show are his friends with whom he shares his life. Ben is a brown dog and is Tom’s best friend. He is also extremely well versed in technology which is why he always works with Tom when they both have some idea.

Ben is good at handling tough and demanding situations. Angela is a white cat in the show who is Tom’s girlfriend. Angela sings very well and the whole town is in love with her cheery and fun personality. Angela wants to be a singer. Ginger is an orange and white cat who is Tom’s neighbor. Ginger is from one of the richest families of town but has a lot of parent issues as his parents have always ignored him. All these are the major characters on the show. But there were a lot of minor characters who were also super funny like Santa Claus, Dr. Internet Doctor, and many others.

The show is developed by Boris Dolenc, Samo Login, and Tom Martin. The three of them have also written many of the initial episodes of the show. The show was released in English in 2014 and was a huge hit which is why it was brought to India in Tamil by one of the largest Kids channels in Tamil, Chutti TV.
