Creative Chef is a cooking show in the Malayalam and English language that airs on the channel, Kappa TV. Kappa TV is a youth channel owned and operated by Mathrubhumi Group. The channel mainly focuses on music and other youth based shows. Creative Chef is not a serial; it is mainly a filler show. It is more like a 5-minute cooking bite that is aired in between other shows. It is aired at multiple time slots in the day, that is, from 9:30 to 9:35 am, from 2:00 to 2:05 p.m. and from 8:00 to 8:05 p.m. Creative Chef is a five-minute food bite show.
The show gives us a peek into the kitchens of different luxury and five-star restaurants. These famous high profile restaurants are mainly located in and around the state of Kerala. One of the talented chefs of these hotels shows you one or more of their delicious recipes from their infamous food and dessert menu in the restaurant. They give you the recipe with all accurate measurements so that you can cook up a five-star style recipe yourself right at home. These recipes look very simple yet elegant and sophisticated enough to fit into a five-star restaurant menu. In each of these five-minute bites of the show, one such recipe is shown to the viewers. Not only international level food is shown in the show, but they also show traditional and Indian food recipes, promoted to a five or seven-star standard.
The show also features special recipes during festival season. Like special cake recipes during Christmas or New Year, also traditional recipes given a five-star twist during the festival of Onam, etc. the show features all kind of food items like savory main course recipes, dessert recipes, finger food and appetizer recipes, etc. Needless to say, the recipes shown in the show, not only look appetizing but also taste delicious. The show also telecasts bites from food related ceremonies or rituals of different hotels like wine tasting or cake mixing ceremony from Beaumonde The Fern, SP Grand Days, Holiday Inn, etc.
