Kumkumam is a women lifestyle show in Malayalam language that airs on one of the popular and leading Malayalam entertainment television channel Kairali TV. Kumkumam is a programme on Kairali TV which deals with women and celebrates their achievements and success in various fields ranging from entertainment to academics to sports, health and fitness, beauty and many more.
The show is hosted and anchored by beautiful and gorgeous Akhila. Kumkumam is divided into various segments. In each segment, different topics and various areas are discussed which are related to lifestyle affairs of women. These segments are- 'Penperuma', 'Jnan Vanna Vazhi', 'Aksharangalile Aval', 'Nizhalai Nilavai', 'Madhuramam Marubhasha', 'Soothram' and 'Chithrapadham'. These segments mainly aims at women entertaining & empowering specially the homemakers. For example, the segment 'Penperuma' features successful women from the field of art, literature, acting, politics and business. In the segment 'Jnan Vanna Vazhi', popular television actors and actresses share their experience and tells the stories of their experience and career so far.
In the segment, 'Aksharangalile Aval' which is hosted by Professor Ambika Devi focusses on literature and the final 'Madhuramam Marubhasha',which is hosted by Reetha Madhav Naik helps in brushing up the English language knowledge and aims at improving the English diction of womenfolk. Nizhalayi Nilavayi' segment celebrates womanhood, and discusses their roles and contributions as a homemaker, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and a lover. While 'Soothram' segment provides helpful and hygienic kitchen tips.
