Mounaraga is a Kannada serial that is a remake of a Telugu serial ‘Monu Raggam.’ It premiered on Star Suvarna. This story of the serial is about a girl who was unwanted by her family. Her family wants to have a boy child. The girl is loved only by her mother, and everybody, including her father, hates her. Senappa tortures his wife Sindhu, who is expecting. He and his mother don’t want a girl child. They go to the hospital to check the gender of the baby. Once they find out that the child will be a girl, they torture Sindhu to drop the child. Sindhu feels happy that her child is safe and she got her baby back. But Senappa takes a very harsh decision. Sindhu finally surrenders to his demands.
Sindhu gives birth to a boy child for whom a grand ceremony was arranged. The girl, on the other hand, is named Raga, who is handicapped. She works as a servant in her own house. Ill-treatment towards Raga was continued by the family members as well as the society. Raga does all the household work. At the same time, his brother was pampered too much. Raga is not allowed to stay in the house. She lives in a servant’s quarter. How will Raga fight her way and become independent? This forms the plot.
