Katheya Rajkumari is a Kannada serial broadcast on the Star Suvarna channel. This serial is the story of a girl named Avani. A young Avani has grown up listening to the stories of affluent kings and their queens from her father. Avani’s father works as a laborer. Things get tough for her when her father is attacked by some goons and dies. Her father died protecting another man. This man is the father of four children. He had gone out to buy a gift for his youngest son Akshay. He ends up bringing Avani as a gift for Akshay and takes full responsibility for making Avani study along with his own kids as her father died protecting him. His kids become jealous and mistreat Avani. Akshay is the youngest of his siblings but has never insulted Avani. The elder ones loathe Avani.

After fifteen years Avani is still living with Akshay’s family but as a maid. The siblings mistreat her despite their parent’s disapproval. The elder three siblings have got married and their wives also keep on plotting against Avani as their parents always prefer her. Akshay had gone to foreign for studying but has decided to return to India to live with his parents. A guy named Siddu is misbehaving with, torturing, and blackmailing Avani. Avani and Akshay are really good friends. But Akshay already loves somebody else. A girl named Pavani was studying with him at his college. She loves Akshay and comes to India to surprise Akshay. She scolds and insults Avani for her closeness with Akshay. A marriage proposal comes for Avani of a guy named Harsha. Avani agrees to marry him. But Siddu becomes jealous and decides to torture her further by violence. Akshay’s parents suggest that he and Avani should go to Malaysia to shop for the wedding of Harsha and Avani. Pavani scolds Akshay for going to Malaysia without her. But Harsha is the evil guy in this serial. His reasons for marrying Avani are not good as he is interested in her money.

Avani finally slaps Siddu for talking ill about Harsha. Harsha’s and Avani’s wedding is fixed. On the day of their wedding, Akshay proposes Pavani to become his wife and a stranger girl claims to be Harsha’s girlfriend. But actually, she was sent by Siddu to break Avani’s wedding. She gets exposed by Akshay. But the real twist happens in the middle of the wedding. Harsha stops the wedding and asks for Avani’s father’s biggest company as dowry. Akshay decides to give his part of the inheritance of the company for the wedding to take place. Will Avani still marry Harsha, or destiny has something else planned for her?
