She was the first female Indian Idol winner. Also, for the first time, three finalists of the show were women contestants.
However, Sourabhee Debbarma entered into Guinness Book of Records for having attempted to sing a song hanging upside down. She took the challenge and tried to break the record of a New Zealand singer Rebecca Wright, who had sung turning her world upside down. While doing so, Rebecca wanted to break a Guinness World Record for the longest time to sing suspended upside down.
Rebecca was upsides down for 3 minutes 52 seconds while Debbarma sang for 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Sourabhee Debbarma won a contract of Rs 1 crore with Sony Entertainment. This singer later released an album too with Sony.
