The show was premiered on DD2(Doordarshan’s Metro Channel) on 6 May 1993. Later, the show was re-run on, Sony TV, DD National and SAB TV till 2005. The show is considered to be a classic and hilarious Indian TV show.
The Diwan family who lives as an extended family with the three generations in an ancestral bungalow in the suburbs of Mumbai. The never-say-die attitude of the family members help them in many ups and down situation such as business issues, relationship difficulty, annoying parents and in-laws, sibling rivalry. The kids create many comic situations with their friends which can be related by the viewers.
The unique feature of the show was its characters who speak very fast.
