Mohit Lalwani

Mohit Lalwani is an Indian playback singer. He sings Hindi songs in Bollywood. He became famous through the Indian Singing reality show, Indian Idol. He was born on 21st December 1986 in Delhi. Mohit was one of the finalists in Indian Idol 4; though he did not win the show, he got popularity and now shares a voice with many lead singers in the music industry.

During a young age, Mohit got inspiration from his mother’s singing habit. In his school time, he took music lessons from his guru Ustad Aftab Ahmed Khan. After schooling, he went to the Ramjas College in Delhi.

He graduated with a Music degree from Delhi University. In college, he was a part of the band, Rooh, and was very popular with his singing skills. After graduating from college, Mohit tried his luck and talent in the India Singing reality show, Indian Idol.

He grabbed the interest of the Judges at auditions and was selected. He went on the reach the finals of the show; however, he was unable to win the Indian Idol trophy. Mohit came in the limelight through his journey at Indian Idol.

The journey for Mohit wasn’t over; he continued working on his vocals and gained knowledge about other genres of music, he explored folk, ghazals, Sufi music, Bollywood and American Pop. Later he started giving live performances and stage shows. Slowly he reached audiences throughout India and foreign.

Mohit has now held stage shows in over 35 countries, he goes on with the motto, “Music bridges the gap between human and divine.” His soft melodious vocals found a way in Bollywood in the movie Love You Sonio; he sang the song, Pyar Tera.

He was a Chief Guest for the World Sindhi Sammelan in Indonesia, Jakarta, and the USA for multiple times. He judges singing shows at different colleges in India and also performs for charities.
