Jass Bhatia is a Punjabi model turned film and television actor. He was born as Jaskaran Singh Bhatia on June 29, 1988 in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. They moved to Delhi when he was two years old and later, he attended Guru Nanak Public School in Rajouri. Jass belongs to a Sikh lineage. His family is into construction business so if he had not been an actor, he might join on his family business; but he has a strong passion for acting so he shifted to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming a successful actor. He joined the ‘Singh of the Year’ from which he gained recognition. Being a Punjab, he was known for wearing his turban most of the time.
He started his career as a model in year 2006 and he has done print ads, ramp shows and television commercials before he was debuted in Pankaj Kapoor’s Indian romance film, Mausam in 2011. Jass played the character of Kartar, a friend of Sq. Leader Harinder Singh (played by
Shahid Kapoor
). Later, he essayed the role of
Lovely Singh
, the funny guy in the group, in the Bollywood romantic film, I Don’t Luv U which stars
Ruslaan Mumtaz
and
Chetna Pande
. Jass did a small but significant role in the box-office biographical sports film, Bhaag Mikha Bhaag in 2013, where he played as Mahinder, friend of
Milkha Singh
(played by
Farhan Akhtar
). This is the film where Jass chops his hair to fit on his character and also the 6th highest grossing Bollywood film in 2013. In 2014, he played a double role in the crime drama film,
Kill Dil
which was produced by
Aditya Chopra
and directed by
Shaad Ali
. He acted as an old and wealthy businessman who died early and he also bagged the role of Chimsy, best friend of Disha (played by
Parineeti Chopra
). He was seen wearing a turban in the Kill Dil.
Jass was also part of the Indian soap, Rab Se Sohna Isshq on Zee TV, where he donned the role of Happy Singh. But this show went off air after almost a year of airing due to low TRP. He is also part of the television drama series,
Firangi Bahu
on Sahara One in 2013.
