Naagin waadon ki agnipariksha is an Indian Hindi language television serial. The show was based on the popular Indian folklore about ichdhari naagin, which is a term for a serpent that can change form and become a human. The show follows one such naagin called Amrita. She used to live with her parents. There is an object called naagmani which is the source of power for all naagins. Amrita’s mother used to keep it with her. The news somehow traveled to members of the Singh family who had been looking for this naagmani for ages. They reach Amrita’s house and kills her parents in a bid to take the naagmani. She somehow escaped but is now plotting her revenge against the whole family.
She has been instructed by the queen Nagini to kill the Singh family and bring back the naagmani to naagins so that she can bring back her parents. To fulfill this wish, Amrita transforms into a human being to exact revenge. Soon she gets married into the same house that killed her parents by using their son. But now her duty as a wife and her love towards her new husband, Arjun comes in the way of killing the Singh family.
She couldn’t decide and in the meantime she gets pregnant. Soon after this, Arjun dies while trying to save Amrita and her baby. Soon all the Singh family dies except for Arjun’s grandmother called Triveni. Soon Triveni poisons Amrita and she is dead. Another naagin helps her become a watchful ghost so that she can look over her children. Season one of the show ends with Amrita getting captured and put behind bars. The show aired on the popular channel, Zee TV. The show ended in 2009.
