Sukirti Kandpal is a Hindi television actress known for her roles in Dill Mill Gayye as Dr. Riddhima Gupta and Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani as Piya Dobriyal. She was born on November 20, 1987 and brought up in Nainital, Uttaranchal. Sukirti is considered as following her father’s footsteps into the field of Law. She finished her honours degree from the Sophia College in Mumbai Majoring in Economics. She even tried her hand in International BPO before she found her calling in the television industry. She has an elder sister and a younger brother. She’s a very warm and cheerful person and had always dreamt of participating in a beauty pageant. She was 14 when she came to Bombay where she was spotted by a director and asked her to audition for Dil Mil Gayye. Unfortunately, she was not selected, but that didn’t stop her from dreaming of being an actress.  She was debuted as a ghost in the horror television series, Ssshhsh…Phir Koi Hai on Star One. Then, she shot to fame in Dill Mill Gayye on STAR One channel. Sukirti played the role of Siddheshwari on Zee TV’s Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo where she was critically acclaimed. Then she did Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani in 2010, followed by the Indian soap, Rab Se Soha Ishq on Zee TV as Jasveer. In 2012, she did the weekly crime-based series on Life OK channel, Hum Ne Li Hai…Shapath as Monisha. Sukirti also played the main role of the modern girl, Simran Rajveer Sangwan in the soap, Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai… Ajab Sa Risk Hai on Life OK. She then went on to play as Sakshi, the female lead of the TV series, Jersey No. 10 that was aired on SAB TV.  Sukirti also played a cameo role in Gumrah: End of Innocence, Dekh Bhai Dekh and Meethi Churi 1. Sukirti was crowned as Miss Bollywood Diva at the Miss India Worldwide Pageant in 2011. She debuted on the big screen through the movie, Love Sex Aur Dhokha in 2010. Sukirti hosted a couple of TV shows, and she was featured in a few ads and magazines. She became the official model of PC Chandra Jewellers in 2009. She was also seen on the Shahnaz Hussain’s Fair One beauty cream’s commercial and made an appearance on the Dove shampoo advertisements. She also won the Women Achievers Award in 2013.

Hema Singh is an Indian television actress famous for her portrayal of Imarti Shrivastav, the lead character in Kairi – Rishta Khatta Meetha, a soap opera that was aired on Colors TV in 2012. She played the role of a dominating mother-in-law, who is a single mother and the head of the family, used an authoritarian style of holding the family together. Born in Lucknow and brought up in Kanpur. She’s the daughter of the renowned Hindi poet Raghuvir Sahay. Her mother is a well-read musician and she has three sisters. She was very naughty as a child and loved climbing trees and eating golgappas and kachoris. Coming from a literary background, she always wanted to be an actor. She would get neighbours together to put up plays even as a youngster and she performed for the first time when she was only 11 years old. She came first in her college while studying at the National School of Drama, New Delhi and after a few stints as a freelance actor, joined the NSD as a professor of acting and speech. She took a two-year sabbatical from her teaching to find out more about the TV industry and bagged the part of Imarti ‘Devi’. She prepared hard for the role, took notes everyday and even drew inspiration from her own mother-in-law to prepare for the role.  She’s also a professor at the Rashtriya Natya Vidhyalaya in Mumbai. She has worked with Shyam Benegal on stage in the past and has been a part of the serial, Bhanwar. Having experienced the inner workings of acting on the small screen, she is better equipped to train her students and lead them along the path to perfection.
