English Tv Show Are You Afraid Of The Dark?

Paranormal and haunted fantasies always hold a special place in the viewer’s hearts. The addiction and excitement is almost doubled when the show is a paranormal one. Ranging from children to teenagers every age group of people is fond of series pertaining to ghosts and haunted stories. Are You Afraid of The Dark? was one such paranormal horror fantasized series.

It was originally a series that was aired in the Canadian television network YTV and was later taken up by the Nickelodeon TV network of the United States. The series was aired on the Nickelodeon Television Network from August 15,1992 and continued until April 20,1996. The Series had 7 seasons containing 91 episodes in total each episode ranging from 22-25 minutes.

The series revolved around a group of teenagers who were popularly known as “The Midnight Society”. The teenagers were sort of horror and ghosts addict and every week visited a secret location where each member of the group narrated a horror and suspense thriller. The story was narrated by a member of the group every time and the story was viewed to the viewers. The plot portrayed the horror story between the arrival and departure of the group members at a secret location. Each member of the group would start the story by beginning with their typical chanting words and then the story continued and the viewers were able to see the ghost stories on screen. Each member would throw some amount of midnight dust from a leather bag giving rise to a white smoke and thereby starting the narration. The plot revolved around various ghosts, suspense, thrillers and fantasy stories that were meant for teenagers and kids.

The plot was directed by David Winning and the plot was revised and featured again from February 1999-June 2000 in Nickelodeon television network. The main characters in the plot included Quinn, Megan, Vange, Tucker, Andy and Garry. The casts were different in the original series and different in the revival series. The series had a sense of thrill around it. Paranormal and haunted stories were featured and enjoyed a lot by the audiences. The series was able to glue the teenagers and kids hence the successive seasons were launched. The series used a single camera setup and was brought to the viewers in English Language.

The series Are You Afraid of the dark had a comedy touch to it and along with its horror theme. The horror and suspense theme gave the viewers goosebumps and the comedy part gave bouts of laughter. The series was a great success hence seven seasons were made.
