Tamil Tv Show Thenamuthu

Thenamuthu is a Makkal TV musical show which is aired Monday to Friday at 7pm. The Show is hosted by Lavanya Sundararaman. The show mainly concentrates on classical songs and genres like Carnatic Music. The promo of the show is one minute long and had Lavanya Sundarraman singing with violin in Background. Watching this show is equal to watching a musical concert. The show was first aired on 2013 and the editor of the show is Saravanan. The show runs with a solo singer and all other orchestral instruments like tabla, mridangam, violin, harmonium, khadam, flute live with the singer. The pictures of Gods and inspirational people are hanged on walls.

The Crew of orchestra is not same but most of days there will be ladies on violin and veena and other members are male. Different melodies are sung mainly devotional songs and there will be songs of different raga's and genres every day. Everybody will be sitting cross-legged on the floor during the show and Lavanya dressed in Saree wearing ornaments in the traditional way. Lavanya Sundarraman is great Granddaughter of famous mridangam artist Palakkad Mani Iyer and Carnatic musician pattamal. Her first music lessons were from Pattamal itself. Her Grandmother Lalitha Sivakumar, Her Mother Gayathri Sundarraman, and her niece Nithyasree Mahadevan are also noted Singers, Under Dr.M.A Bhageerathi she is pursuing her Ph.D. in music.

She did all her Degree and Masters from Chennai Queen Mary's College. She does music shows in TV, Ragamalika for Jaya TV in 2004, She also appeared in Airtel Super Singer Season 2 as a guest. She has sung in many DVD's too like Sai Lavanya Lahari, Karunai Deivame, Madurakali Amman, Triveni Sangamam. She learnt Guruguha song of Dikshitar from Raaga Sudha when she was four years old. She sang at Parampara concert while she was eight years old. She feels very fortunate to be born a music family and music is her passion. Lavanya has won many Carnatic music competitions and scholarships such as Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Scholarship on 2000 and won Narada Gana Sabha competition, Carnatic competition of Mylapore Fine Arts and Music Academy, Chennai.

She has done concerts also abroad in places like Malaysia, Singapore, and Canada. She has presented programs based on people like Muthuswami Dikshitar, Subramanya Bharathiar, Oothukkadu Venkatasubbier, Papanasam Sivan, Muthaiah Bhagavathar. Toronto Tamil Sangam awarded her title of 'Tamil Isai Kuyil' Tite. She has also has done albums with her niece Nithyasree Mahadevan too.
