We are all familiar with the goddess of wisdom and knowledge, Devi Saraswati. She has another name, Veenapani, which means the one who plays the veena, a string instrument. The series chronicles the life of Bhakti, an orphan. She lives in a village and is an ardent devotee of Devi Saraswati. Her parents had been murdered, leaving her parentless. Her life in the village is shown in the beginning. One day, she stumbles across a veena. Bhakti had passed it off as an ordinary veena. She could never have imagined the magical powers that the veena held. Her life takes an extraordinary twist. With the help of this instrument, she now sets off on a quest to identify the murderers and avenge her parents’ death.

Arav plays the role of Mayura, Bhakti’s love interest. The ups and downs of their relationship are shown. Arav faces considerable disapproval from his parents, however, he loves Bhakti with all his heart and turns down other marriage proposals. In an interview, both Varshika and Arav confessed that they were more excited about acting on the small screen than they were about acting in the movies. Varshika’s role of Bhakti is demure and her subtle acting has lent a certain charm to the character.
