Amrapali is an Indian drama series directed by Ravi Kemmu. The series was aired on Doordarshan National Network every Sunday from June 30, 2002. The story is about the life story of Amrapali, a young, beautiful, and innocent girl. She visits Vaishali to see the crowning ceremony of the new Janpath Kalyani. In that ceremony, she gets drunk and contends to become Janpath Kalyani. The latter half of her story is dealt with the rest of the series. The series was dubbed into different languages. But the show was discontinued in late 2002, before it was completed, due to low audience ratings.
