Plot
Mani works for a pharmaceutical distribution company, which secretly runs a cocaine business. Mani learns that his lover, Rekha, is pregnant with his child. When she opts for an abortion, Mani promises her that he will care for her and asks her not to abort. Ashok is married to Archana, and they have a daughter, Anu. Archana’s ex-lover plans to blackmail her and earn a lump sum. Meanwhile, Mani’s delivery vehicle is stolen. Mani was unaware that it had Rs 50 lakhs of cocaine. He was forced to give either the money or the drug, as they made Rekha a hostage. In this situation, he receives an offer to kidnap Ashok’s child, so that he will get Rs 50 lakh. What will he do? Will he kidnap the kid to save his lover and unborn child? The rest of the story deals with this.
Star Performance
GV Prakash did his part well. Teju Ashwini didn’t have a huge workload here, but she did what was required. Bindu Madhavi emotes well in the scenes when she is threatened by Linga and the scenes where she misses her daughter. Srikanth is good in his role. Muthukumar, Linga, and Ramesh Thilak are good in their roles.
Analysis
The script is good on paper, but the screenplay is weak. In the beginning, Mani and Rekha’s love story is shown. After a few scenes, Rekha disappears, and the story shifts to another family, completely. Those emotional scenes with the child kidnapping should’ve created tension and made the audience emotional. But they are detached, despite some decent performances in those scenes. Anu, who is kidnapped multiple times, doesn’t show much opposition, and she stays good to the kidnappers. This is where the logic slips. Also, kidnapping the same kid multiple times doesn’t create any sympathy, but irritates. The screenplay is not organized well to make the thriller thrilling. Sam CS did his job well and tried to elevate some intense scenes, but it didn’t work due to an unorganized screenplay.
