Plot

Thirumurugan is a peon in an auditor's office. Thirumurugan’s friend is his employer. In a particular situation, he was insulted by his friend and Thirumurugan gets out and from that moment, he decides that he should make his son an auditor. His son Sivakumar studies well in the school, but he is not impressive in his academics at college and hence he gets terminated. After hearing this, Thirumurugan and his wife Janaki were very upset and they lose their cool and slammed their son for his poor behavior in the college. Irritated Kumar challenges his father to join the college and get a degree. Thirumurugan accepts the challenge and gets admission in the college. What is the resultant? Did he get the degree? Star Performance

Prabhu is a great actor and he had done his role pretty well. He appears as a caring father and makes his presence felt throughout the film. Madhubala played the mother role after Vayai Moodi Pesavum and she is perfect and had done a good job in the emotional scenes. Rahul Vijay and Priya Vadlamani did what is asked from them, but their chemistry didn't work out well.

Analysis

The script is good, but the problem comes when it's not executed properly. With good performers like Prabhu, Madhubala, Manobala and Nassar the team would have made it quite enjoyable. The worst part is that the lip sync. The dialogues seem to have been changed during the dubbing. The music is ok and cinematography too. The production values are not much impressive.

The script is good and the performance of the senior stars are excellent

What's Not There?

The lead pair should have developed some chemistry
Lip syncing is the biggest drawback

Verdict

The movie has some exciting scenes in the second half and we could see Prabhu balancing the film with his excellent performance. If you don't have any movies to watch this weekend, then try this film, College Kumar!
