Plot
Meet Fathima Noorjahan, a young woman from an orthodox Muslim family who has had a burning desire to become a football commentator, and wanted to make a career in the field. She dreamed of herself as the commentator at the IFL and wanted to achieve her goal desperately. However, her family members are keener on setting up an alliance for her rather than supporting her aspirations. Along her journey, Fathima faces numerous challenges in this male-dominated field but refuses to give up and continues to pursue her passion. Will she ultimately achieve her dream of becoming a commentator at the IFL matches? Only time will tell!
Star Performance
Kalyani Priyadarshan delivered a standout performance as the livewire character. Her portrayal of Fathima was beautiful, despite some minor dramatic hitches. Aneesh G Menon, who played the supportive brother Asif, shared great chemistry with Kalyani. Sudheesh, as Fathima's father Muneer, delivered a memorable performance. Femina George, known for her role in Minnal Murali, the portrayal of Fathima's close friend Ramya was good. Sabumon Abdusamad's portrayal as the politician-antagonist was pretty convincing.
Analysis
The movie Sesham Mikeil Fathima, helmed by director Manu C Kumar, comes across as a boisterous and lively film. However, it fails to make a sincere attempt at showcasing the real struggle of a girl to achieve her aspirations while coming from a conservative background. The movie lacks depth in exploring actual conflicts and takes the easier route of portraying the family as flexible to an extent that is usually not realistic. As a result, the film ends up being a formulaic and pedestrian effort, lacking any distinguishing features.

Attempting a female-centric film with a fairytale story seems disappointing as the audience didn't find themselves connecting to the characters. Despite the lagging script, the movie didn't fail to make the audience smile. - A FEEL GOOD FAIRYTALE MOVIE.
