Plot

Monsoon Mangoes revolves around the late 90s and deals with the protagonist Fahadh Fazil (living in the U.S since he is three years) who is bent on making a Malayalam film. But his parents and friends do not understand the depth of his passion for filmmaking. Star Performances

Fahadh Faasil lives the role of D P Pallickal. He has once again proved that he is a strong contender for the best young actors in Malayalam cinema. Vijaz Raaz has also proved that he is here to stay, with his outstanding performance. Debutante Aiswarya Menon has limited scope to perform. Nandu is excellent in his comedy and Vinay Fortt, Sajini Sachariah, and Josukutty have ably supported.

Analysis

Mansoon Mangoes has the backdrop of New Orleans. The Malayali audience will have a new visual experience in Monsoon Mangoes. The director, (who has directed the famous sitcom Akkara Kazhchagal), doesn’t bank on the heroism of Fahadh. Instead he has shown him as a congenial person. Also, we get to see the lives of Malayalis who are settled in the U.S.

What’s there?

  2. Jakes Bijoy’s music is excellent. It gels well with the tempo of the movie.

Monsoon Mangoes is a simple story of a young man who is brimming with aspirations. It can be watched once for its sublime theme. It will strike the right chord with the youngsters.
