Matchbox can be said to be that flame of a candle that just blew up in a weak wind. The perfect blend thing couldn't be made, and it was unable to attract anyone in the theatre.

Plot

A joyful student Ambu every day sees a girl Nidhi at the bus stop. He stalks her and she sometimes smirks watching him in return. Ambu's father is a strong communist. He married a lady who was from another religion. Ambu has a group of 4 friends, and all of them study in a B.Com college. On the later part, Ambu finds that Nidhi is the daughter of the man who is a friend of his father. Ambu would have confessed to her, but a lot of incidents have already happened in her life. After that, the movie shows how Ambu approaches Nidhi and tries to own her.

Analysis

The makers didn't bring any new dish to the plate that could create curiosity to the audience. A pure absence of wittiness. It only has romantic moments everywhere to show the movie a little cool. It is barely a romantic movie where there is a little flavor of secularism as well as communalism. When the aimless film makes you not interested, there comes Vishak Nair Vishak Nair was born on 25th April 1992 in Cochin, >> Read More... who makes you laugh, but he couldn't rescue the movie. Kenny and Nikhil could have improvised the script, whereas the cinematography, editing is average. Bijibal did his job quite good in case of music.

Star Performance

Roshan Mathew Roshan Mathew is a young Indian actor who made his >> Read More... this time disappoints you with his acting skills. Vishak Nair somehow managed his character. Drishya Raghunath Drishya Raghunath is a new member of the Malayalam >> Read More... is a beautiful looking female lead, but she couldn't do with the acting skills at the same time. Shammy Thilakan shows his performance a little. Mathew tries to deliver jokes but he only cracked one perfectly and the remaining ones were not up to the level.

What’s There?

  • The chemistry that Roshan Mathew and Vishak Nair shares are the main eye-catching element of the movie
  • The jokes appear barely, but whenever they show up they sprinkle their magic.
  • Some of the great views of the city Calicut will give you thrills.

What’s Not There?

  • Sivram Mony has not thrown a try to lighten the 2 hours story.
  • The unnecessary tensions and the melodrama make no sense.
  •  A very long Chennai part is just helping the makers to make the movie somehow long which is pointless.

Verdict

They fail to lighten up the matches of the matchbox. Somehow it looks like a copy of various movies. Not a good choice to watch it.
