Plot
Gokul is a middle-class father who is trying to provide the best for his son, Anbu. While the EMIs crowned his head, his wife, Glory, supports him with her garment business. When both are working, Anbu is stuck inside four walls with online classes. This routine makes him lose his grip on his parents. He wants to roam freely and enjoy his childhood. When Glory is out of town for her work, Gokul and Anbu are all set for a bike ride. The happenings during the bike ride form the rest of the story.
Star Performance
Shiva is excellent with his usual one-liners and innocent look. He excels even in the emotional moments and surprises us. Grace Antony fits well as Glory. Grace does well in emotional scenes where she provides a measured performance showcasing her love for her husband and son and feels for her sister. Her performance in the climax makes us laugh out loud. Mitul performs well. We don’t feel his performance is an overdose. Anjali and Aju appear in minimal screen time, and deliver what is needed. Balaji Sakthivel and Vijay Yesudas are good in given roles.
Analysis
We already know that Ram is an expert in delivering emotional stories with great performances. He gets the work done from the artists in the measurements he needs. He has never allowed anyone to overdo. The same pattern is followed here. It is exciting to see Shiva in such a role, without losing his style. As usual in Ram’s films, Paranthu Po, too, has a wonderful visual treat. The aerial shots make us say, Wow! The songs by Santhosh and the BGM by Yuvan are an addition to the gripping screenplay. Ram should be appreciated for blending emotions and comedy well. Although there is a mixture of comedy and emotions, the screenplay didn’t get derailed; it travels smoothly, yet strongly.

Verdict
Ram has delivered a wonderful emotional movie with good performances. He has pinpointed the pressure carried out by the parents, and how the children suffer in an easy way to reach all audiences. It is a good movie that carries the reality. Visit the theater without expectations, and you’ll like it for sure!
