Plot
Kuttan Pillai is a policeman, and his wife, Shakunthala, is an S.I. They live happily, and their three children are married and well-settled. On the Sivarathri festival, Kuttan Pillai hosts a party with his children, spouses, and extended family. At the party, his son-in-law expresses his wish to cut the huge jackfruit tree to use for his furniture. But Kuttan opposes it, and they both get into a fight. The next day, Kuttan goes for a stroll in his backyard but unfortunately dies after a jackfruit falls on him. Will he come back as a ghost to protect the tree? How will the family deal with his death?
Star Performance
Suraj, as Kuttan Pillai, was the showstopper. Kuttan’s character looks hard on the outside but hides his affection inside, and Suraj did a great job playing such a role. Asha also did a fantastic job as his wife, Shakuntala. The supporting cast was also good in their characters.
Analysis
There are two main plots happening side by side, which makes the movie even more enjoyable. When the main lead becomes involved in both stories, it gets exciting to watch how he deals with the situation. There are many hidden messages in the film which are heartwarming.
What’s There?
• Excellent cast and supporting characters.
• The setting and portrayal of a Malayalam family were good.
What’s Not There?
• It’s a very slow movie.
• The two stories seemed very different, and the connection was weak.
Verdict
Apart from the horror aspect, the movie is very interesting to watch.
