Plot
Four teenagers get stuck in a bungalow. However, they are not the only occupants of this bungalow. As they learn of the trouble, they try to escape but in vain. Will they make it out of the bungalow, alive?
Star Performances
Mohammed Shaheen and Anish Janardhan are the standout performers of this film.
They have created such a script which is devoid of the classic tropes for an Indian horror film. Yet, it is so brilliant, that none of the viewers will leave the hall without feeling a bit jittery.
Analysis
Ever thought of an Indian film that has negligible jump scares, and only uses the perception of the mind to scare your wits out? Such psychological horror is almost unheard of in our country.
However, the makers of ‘Exit’ decided to give it a try, and boy, they’ve done it well! The film revolves around four teenagers, who are stranded in an abandoned bungalow, and how they come face to face with an individual, who doesn’t let them leave.

’, it does take one inspiration: let the narrative do the talking! The way the makers subtly integrate cannibalism with the thriller elements is something not seen very often in the cinema. This film is the best example of how to make the most of the resources at hand. The background score is equally good, helping to build up the momentum for a film like this.
The editing is almost top-notch, for the viewers are left guessing until the very end. Some of the plot sequences may not be very out of the world, but they are far from cringeworthy. The casting is also to the point, since except for Hareesh Peradi, there are hardly any faces worth recognizing. The raw element needed from the young characters is also genuine.
The acting performances are also superb. The teenagers, as well as the ‘prisoner’ mentioned, have acted well, performing their roles to near perfection.

Verdict
‘Exit’ is that rare horror thriller, which scares the audience to the core. It uses less of the regular tropes, and more of the mind games to do the trick. The acting performances in this film only add further to the eerie charm of this movie. Such movies should be encouraged by both the experts as well as the masses!
