Horror, thriller, and suspense seem to rule the roost now in Sandalwood, and it is indeed like a whiz of fresh air when films with rustic story hit the screen. Vamshodharaka is one such attempt.

returns to his rural roots after having the education from Bengaluru. He is of the firm hope that farming is where his heart is. Eventually, the flick deals with love and revenge. Also, the film has subplots with the hero is at his generous best.
Analysis
Director Aditya Chikkanna has taken inspiration from films of yesteryears. He has taken all the necessary elements from these flicks (mainly the flicks of Rajkumar including Sakshatkara, Bangarada Manushya, etc.) and has given a Biryani. The virtues of the protagonist are hyped to a great extent in this movie. But again, the director should be lauded for taking a rustic theme wherein films of city flavor are screened at the theatres.
Star Performances
The old hands have given a stellar performance especially Lakshmi, who makes a comeback. Vijay Raghavendra has done an earnest job. As for

What’s there?
1. Concepts like organic farming, husband-wife bond, etc. are interspersed in the film in a tactful manner.
2. The scenic beauty of the film is one of the highlights.
3. Music of V Manohar is quite good.
What’s not there?
1. There’s overdose of the comedy-villain portions of Rangayana Naidu. In fact, to aggravate the situation he has a couple of songs in the film (this is also inspiration from yesteryear Kannada flicks where separate songs for comedians were given).
2. The flick could have been edited a bit.
3. The script of the flick is quite incoherent.
4. The screenplay is quite haywire.
Verdict
Vamshodharaka is the typical good versus evil flick. However, you can watch it once to have a change from the city-centric films.
