Nikhil Gowda (who is the son of Kumaraswamy, Karnataka ex-Chief Minister and grandchild of ex-Prime Minister Deve Gowda) debuts with the movie Jaguar. This film has been waited for with great anticipation by the audiences. It is released in both Telugu and Kannada. Having an ensemble of top cast this movie is released today, on the occasion of Dussehra. Now let’s see whether it’s Dussehra treat for the fans.

Nikhil is an ordinary student of medical college and he targets influential people in the medical field and kills them. This he does with the mask of Jaguar. Jagapathi Babu is a CBI official appointed by the police to take steps to put an end to Nikhil’s murders but the latter is elusive. By the way, why is Nikhil doing such acts? What is the exact reason behind these killings? Watch the movie Jaguar to get answer to these questions.

Star Performances

Nikhil Gowda is good in his debut venture and seems to have been got the right training. He is well-equipped in dance and stunt sequences. Sampath’s role is intriguing and he does a neat job. Adarsh Balakrishna’s role will leave a lasting impression in the minds of the audiences. Tamannaah appears in an item number. Ramya Krishnan appears only in a few scenes while Rao Ramesh does the regular character. Jagapathi Babu could have been given more screenspace.

Director A Mahadev has done a good job in some scenes including the murder scenes, and his execution is good post interval. However, it seems his vision is compromised for a masala entertainer.

What’s there?

  • The story by Vijendra Prasad is highly impressive.
  • The first half is engrossing.
  • The action sequences are worth mentioning.

What’s not there?

  • The second half falls short of one’s expectations.

An average commercial entertainer….that’s Jaguar for you.
