Starring Shah Rukh Khan, and a gorgeous newcomer, Anushka Sharma, this movie is written and directed by Aditya Chopra, who has earlier made films like, ‘ Mohabbatein’ is a complete blockbuster package for the audience.

The audience of our country strictly await movies from the three Khans, and that is the reason behind this being the most awaited movie of the year.

Surinder [Shah Rukh Khan], a hard working, plain-spoken individual working for Punjab Power, leads a monotonous life, but the moment he sets his eyes on Taani [Anushka Sharma], his life undergoes a change. Unlike him, she is a playful, extravagant and happy-go-lucky type of a person. However, destiny has some other things in stock for them. Taani’s father takes a promise from the two of them to marry each other while he resides to heaven, and here is the starting of an extraordinary love story.

Marrying Surinder is not what Taani could have ever dreamt of, as he is not well fashioned, nor an interactive person. Nevertheless, she adjusts with him, and they lead a simple routine life with Taani changing into a non- interesting personality. As days pass by, Surinder is only happy about the fact that his wife makes his lunch daily, which he merrily carries to his office. On the other hand, Taani sees a poster of a dancing competition and immediately makes her decision of participating in it.

On the other hand, sensing her melancholy deep inside her heart Surinder makes up his mind to transform himself into a new individual who is modern, well fashioned and rides a sportbike putting on his shades. The dancing competition requires couples to participate, so Surinder transforms himself to Raj and becomes her dance partner. While Taani is unaware of the fact that both Raj and Surinder are the same individuals, she falls in love with Raj and on the eve of the dancing finale; she decides on fleeing with Raj.

Will Surinder be again a lonely person; will the promise of Taani’s dad be broken forever. Watch the film to find out.

After a long gap of eight years, with his last two directorial outings being “ Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” and “Mohabbatein”, this movie didn’t turn out to be sharing on the same grounds with the previous two.

Also, the story turns out to be the most happening in the former and the later part; the middle section of the movie would make you feel bored. The simplicity of the movie fails to attract the audience that much.

Star Performances:

As a newcomer being casted opposite a famous celeb like SRK, Anushka has still managed to take her role into prominence in the movie. SRK, as usual, mesmerizes us with his superb acting skills and simplicity. Vinay Pathak is playing the role of Surinder’s friend, Balwinder " Bobby" Khosla and he adds a tinge of comedy to the movie. If one loves simplicity and is a die hard fan of SRK’s acting, this movie is definitely going to yield results.

What’s there?

  • SRK (his appearance is enough for you to watch this movie).
  • A Yash Raj Banner Film.
  • A love story.
  • Music by Salim-Sulaiman.

What’s not there?

  • It’s not up to the level of Aditya Chopra after eight years of his comeback.
  • Plots could have been much better.
  • Low promotion of the movie.

A very desi simple story. If you love simple, slow movies and want only SRK in the whole, then this is a must watch.
