Plot
Pia is a wealthy Delhi girl who wants to show that she has a boyfriend. She is from a patriarchal family. She hires Arjun, her classmate, for Rs 25k per week to act as her boyfriend. They create Instagram stories to showcase that they are lovers. Arjun thinks love is a distraction from following his dreams, but Pia feels that love is important. What will happen if the paid lover becomes her original lover? Will their love succeed? The rest of the story follows their romantic story.
Star Performance
Ibrahim’s debut is good in a breezy character. His performance is quite decent, except for the voice, which is a bit artificial. Khushi is okay, but what we feel is she is still to be comfortable before the camera. She has to hone her acting skills. She doesn’t succeed in addressing the inner conflict of Pia. Mahima Chaudhary, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj are good in their respective roles.
Analysis
The film didn’t plan for any message-oriented story but a normal romcom with a Korean touch. If the film had been made as a web series, it might have worked better. The senior actors have done a good job, but their characters didn’t have any significant impact. Ibrahim looks like the younger version of Sai Ali Khan. He is comfortable with his role, and fits well in the role, better than Khushi. The visuals and editing are okay. The music is quite decent.
