Ishita Moitra is an Indian screenplay and dialogue writer who works in the Bollywood film industry and the Hindi television industry. She was born on 8th August 1983 in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. She is known for her work in television series Dekha EK Khwaab and Bade Achhe Lagte Hai. She is also known for the movies Ragini MMS and Noor.

Ishita co-wrote the screenplay of the Hindi movie Kambakht Ishq with the director Sabir Khan. The feature film hit the big screens on 3rd July 2009. Ishita co-wrote the script with Sanyukta Shaikh Chawla for Episode Beggar Mafia directed by Siddharth Anand Kumar for the crime series Khotey Sikkey created by Vinay Chowdhury. The episode aired on 12th March 2011.

Ishita came to the spotlight for writing the episodes of the soap opera Dekha Ek Khwaab directed by Sagar Kagra and Deepak Thakur. The series was a remake of the 2007 Taiwanese drama Romantic Princess. The Hindi serial aired on 21st November 2011 on Sony Entertainment Television India. Ishita also wrote the dialogues for episodes of Bade Ache Lagte Hain created by Ekta Kapoor and for the episode of Ajeeb Dasta Hain Ye also created by Ekta Kapoor. Ishita co-wrote the dialogues and the screenplay for the comedy crime drama flick Always Kabhi Kabhi with the director Roshan Abbas. The Bollywood movie hit the silver screens on 17th July 2011.

Ishita Moitra wrote the screenplay of the documentary Jijivisha which she co-directed with Kuber Sharma, Shirley Abraham, Amit Madeshia, Charulatha Menon and Vimlendu K Jha. The film follows the path of the River Yamuna from the Yamunotri glaciers in the Himalayas to Allahabad via Delhi and Agra. The film raises issues of water pollution. It was released in 2005.

Ishita wrote the dialogues for the upcoming Hindi movie Noor directed by Sunhil Sippy. Noor is based on the debut novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me! written by the Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz in 2014.The Bollywood flick will hit the theatre halls on 21st April 2017.

She also wrote the dialogues for the upcoming movie Half Girlfriend directed by Mohit Suri, based on the author Chetan Bhagat’s book with the same name. The romance flick will hit the movie halls on 19th May 2017. She co-wrote the dialogues with Baljeet Singh Marwah for the upcoming feature film Bank Chor directed by Bumpy. The Bollywood movie will hit the cinema halls on 16th June 2017. Ishita also wrote the dialogues for the Bollywood feature films Mere Dad Ki Maruti in 2013 and Ragini MMS 2 in 2014.
