Suresh Oberoi is a character actor and the father of actor Vivek Oberoi. He was born as Vishal Kumar Oberoi, on December 17, 1946, in Quetta, Baluchistan, present-day Pakistan. His father was a Punjabi businessman named Anand Sarup Oberoi. He four brothers and sisters. His entire family relocated to Hyderabad state in India, during the time of Partition.
