Manoj Darpan is a Lyricist in the Indian Film Industry. He writes lyrics of songs in the Hindi language. He has been working in the industry for over two decades and has garnered some attention with his work. However, he fails to leave a mark in the Industry and to be counted as one of the leading lyricists of his time like Amitabh Bhattacharya, Javed Akhtar, Prasoon Joshi and many others. Although he manages to write frequently and maintain a place for himself in the industry. He has been writing songs for movies for a very long time, and his work came to notice in the year 1995 with the Hindi movie Zakhmi Sipahi. In the 2011 flick, Aseema: Beyond Boundaries, Manoj collaborated with Satyakam Mohanty and Shabbir Ahmed to pen down the lyrics for the song – Yu Naa Jao Tum Mujhe Chhod Kar. The song was sung by the talented singer Hariharan, and the music was given by the Music Director Shamir Tandon. It was the directorial venture of Sisir Mishra and cast Gracy Singh and Mercy Merchant as the lead protagonists. He also wrote the version of a song Ek Janam DO Janam Yaa which was sung by the popular female singer Shreya Ghoshal. He grouped with the same trio to write these lyrics. The blockbuster song of this movie was Ek Safar Hai Zindagi which was also sung by Hariharan and written by Manoj Darpan. Jeene ki Aasha Jaagi Hai was another song of the flick penned by Manoj that garnered attention. Sadhna Sargam gave her voice to the song Aa Gaye Ho Chalte Chalte which was also Manoj Darpan’s work. Other songs in the flick which were written by Manoj and his two partners were Aasuon Ka Pehra Aakhein, Ek Janam Do Janam Ya, and Tere Aane Se Pehle. The depth and meaning of the songs that reflected the storyline and the message of the film were appreciated by all and credited by all esteemed lyricists. This film got Manoj the recognition that he deserved. It is one of the best works of Darpan till date. After Aseema: Beyond Boundaries. The frequency of Manoj’s work decreased suddenly. In the year 2013, he wrote two songs for the flick Filmy Duniya. These were Yahan Koi Nahi and Hero Se Zero Ban Gaya. In the 2013 movie Grand Masti starring Vivek Oberoi, Aftab, and Ritesh Deshmukh, he wrote the popular song Zulmi Zulmi which was sung by Mika Singh and the music was given by Anand Raj Anand. Kumaar and Manoj collectively completed all the songs of the film.
