Based on a folktale set in the desert of Rajasthan, there’s a witch who kills every young girl she sees in order to become immortal. A bus carrying villagers from the nearby villages to a temple had a young year girl in it. The witch senses her presence and tries to kill her amidst all the passenger one traveller in the bus only one man helps out the young girl.
Plot: Kaalo the witch, who used to practice witchcraft and used to kill the children of her village Kulbhata to remain immortal but one day the villagers got to know about this. They killed her and buried her but after some years the witch returned to the village and this time, she was more powerful than ever, this sight of Kaalo left the villagers scared, and they vacated the whole village. The whole village was abandoned, and even the travelers who tried crossing the village met the fate of death. One day a bus filled with passengers from the nearby villagers were traveling to Kuldevi Temple, the bus had to cross the village of Kulbhata to reach the temple.

But as fate would have its turn; Kaalo sensed the presence of the nubile in the bus and the bus stops in the midway. The sight of Kaalo scares the passengers and knowing the consequence everyone in the bus asks her to get down from the bus to save the lives of another passenger. But except for Sameer (

), who was traveling with some gunpowder to blast small hill to release some water for his drought-stricken village. He fights with Kaalo so that he can save Shona’s life being taken by the witch. He ties the bag of gunpowder after blinding the witch by piercing in wooden sticks into her eyes and finally kills the witch and saves Shona’s life.

’ direction in the movie Kaalo leaves the spectators dim-wit and although the movie has a pretty horrifying creature by the name Kaalo-the witch, the appearance of the creature won’t even scare a kindergarten kid. The concept of a horror movie in daylight is a total disaster knowing India directors have failed to make people afraid even with their night horror films. There’s no continuity in the story the characters in the movie are at a similar level of stupidity to that of the movie.
Performances: The story and the plot of the movie don't give characters much to do and enthrall the audiences, Swini as the young girl has done everything to adapt to the role and deliver a good performance. Aditya Srivastava has done a decent job; apart from that, it’s better to remain silent about the rest of the cast.
What’s there: Apart from the great picturization of the long and abandoned deserts of Rajasthan, with all the vacant houses and the arid and hot sand dunes, there’s not much in the movie to talk about.
What’s not there: The background for actual horror movies, the movie also lacks a good and spooky background music that is so essential for any horror movie.
Review: The movie is actually a joke in the name of horror. Certainly not worth shedding some hard earn money out of your pockets.
