CAST & CREW
Directed by K.C.Bokadia and produced by Nihal Farhat, ‘ Dirty Politics’ is rated an adult movie, which is having all great actors [except Mallika Sherawat]. It stars Naseeruddin Shah, Mallika Sherawat, Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana, Anupam Kher, Om Puri and Awadhesh Mishra.
It’s a story of a woman named Anokhi Devi, which is lame, and loosely implicates the character itself. She sleeps with all the politicians and blackmails them. The CBI gets involved when Anokhi Devi goes missing. So, from the beginning, the naked conspiracy is served in front of the audience.
Popular understanding of the relation between politics and sex in a city like Mumbai. This film encourages all stereotypes, though you can feel distant from it. At the same time, immaturity of the filmmaker is visible. While watching, you realize that all these great actors are in such a pitiful situation, which is not making any sense. There are so many layers to politics and democracy, but this film fails to show any of it. Mockery in this movie reminds us of the 90’s melodrama and cinematic style. There is a concept of politicians getting involved in sex scandals, as well as women using their power to get things done, which disorders and creates a humdrum screenplay. Use of Mallika’s pretentious seduction fails to hold the film. The film runs around Anokhi Devi. It looks repetitive to keep her in each shot.
Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, and Anupam Kher look lost in most of the scenes. Mallika Sherawat’s unusual hiss fails to fit in with the filthy political adversity.
1. Few funny dialogues.
2. Star performances.
WHAT’S NOT THERE?
1. Almost everything is missing.
2. Screenplay, script, dialogues and music is disastrous.
With all the controversies faced before and after the release of this film [banned in several places, Mallika’s poster wearing the national flag, etc.], this is a trash movie. Specific kind of audience might find it funny, but most of the jokes are lame. We recommend watching this movie at your own risk, or if you missed Mallika Sherawat on-screen after a long time, you can go and check it out.
