Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ Gets The Censor Certificate!

According to the recent reports, the Censor Board of Film Certification has finally cleared Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ after a few cuts. The total runtime of this movie is less than two and half hours, i.e. around 146 minutes. The new release date will be announced soon.

‘Emergency’ was originally scheduled to release around 25 June 2023, but was delayed due to post production glitches. The film got another release date on 14 June 2024, but was delayed to 6 September, to avoid major clashes.

When the film was set for a release on 6 September, the film was further delayed due to the hesitation in clearance from the Censor Board, apart from the protests by several Sikh organizations, who alleged that their community was misrepresented in this movie.

‘Emergency’ is a biographical drama on the life of Indira Gandhi, from her rise to power to her demise in 1984. The movie is co-written, produced, and directed by Kangana Ranaut, who is also playing the lead role of Indira Gandhi.
